Director of Sales

We’re looking for a Director of Sales to lead Codelicious’ customer acquisition efforts. As Director, you’ll work closely with our Director of Marketing to drive strategy for our full customer lifecycle from lead acquisition through contract signing and be accountable for the profitable growth of the company. As a member of the sales team, you will manage a personal deal pipeline, generating revenue and closing deals in an assigned territory. You won’t do any of this alone -- you’ll lead a team of talented sales professionals, providing guidance and a roadmap for success.

The ideal candidate is someone with a strong understanding of B2B sales strategy, tactical execution, and team management. We are looking for a confident and motivating sales player-coach who recognizes the importance of teamwork and leveraging the broad range of skills on our team to create a vibrant and success-driven culture within the sales team.


WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Develop and lead the Codelicious sales team, including hiring, managing, and retaining a talented team of salespeople.

  • Manage sales operations, including ongoing development of the Codelicious sales playbook and serving as the primary business owner of Hubspot CRM.

  • Enable our sales team to reach their goals by providing them the strategy, tools, guidance, coaching, and support needed to succeed.

  • Accurately forecast, grow, and manage a personal portion of quota (conducting sales calls, product demos and closing deals) while also owning total team quota attainment to generate revenue. 

  • Provide ongoing reporting and analysis of sales campaigns and programs.

  • Attend trade shows, educational conferences, and client meetings across the US (estimated 25% national travel).

  • Collaborate closely with the Director of Marketing to ensure alignment across sales and marketing initiatives.

WHAT YOU HAVE:

  • 7+ years sales experience, including time in a leadership role with strategic decision-making responsibilities

  • First-hand experience with B2B sales as individual contributor and a history of being a top performer

  • Hands-on understanding of CRM technology (Hubspot preferred) with demonstrated ability to implement process and reporting via the CRM

  • Established process for sales management and operations, including forecast management, pipeline reviews, and team one-on-ones.

  • Experience managing and owning quota attainment for a sales team (and a track record of being the coach that empowers their team to achieve).
