Director of Marketing

Reports to: Senior Director of Operations


We’re looking for a Director of Marketing to lead our marketing strategy and brand development. You’ll work closely with the Director of Sales to ensure marketing and sales are aligned to drive company growth. As Director, you will oversee all aspects of marketing from lead generation to content creation and event marketing (and everything in between). 

The ideal candidate is a proven leader of both people and projects. You’re experienced in B2B marketing strategy, tactical execution, and team management. You’re a clear and concise communicator who can see the big picture and create measurable goals and a clear plan to get there. You’ll serve as both coach and contributor, leading by example.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Develop a comprehensive marketing strategy with clear goals and KPIs to indicate success. This includes, but is not limited to, lead generation and nurturing, digital marketing, content development, paid advertising, and trade shows.

  • Lead the creation and management of tactical execution plans for our marketing team and provide the coaching, support, and tools needed to achieve.

  • Drive with data by providing ongoing reporting and analysis of campaigns to guide goal-setting and decision-making.

  • Work closely with the Director of Sales to ensure strategic alignment across sales and marketing.

  • Be a resident expert in Hubspot Marketing Hub, leading onboarding of new team members to the platform (and keeping us up-to-date on changes to the platform).

  • Manage the Codelicious trade show schedule, identifying key events to attend as well as owning booth design and lead acquisition strategy.

  • Attend trade shows and educational conferences (estimated 20% national travel).

  • Oversee vendor relations as it relates to social and paid media, media relations, and community events.

  • Serve as final gatekeeper of all products and marketing materials, ensuring all content, collateral, and curriculum adhere to brand, style, and writing standards.

WHAT YOU HAVE:

  • 5+ years B2B marketing experience, including time in a leadership role with strategic decision-making responsibilities

  • Direct experience owning marketing strategy and developing measurable goals around lead acquisition and nurturing (MQLs, SQLs, Opportunities)

  • Demonstrated experience as a strong manager of both people and projects

  • Hands-on experience with Hubspot Marketing Hub

  • Strong data analytics skills, with a penchant for data-driven decision-making

  • Impeccable written and verbal communication skills, with an eye for copyediting, branding, and design

  • The ability to inspire a team while also jumping in and contributing to the creation of various kinds of marketing content
